Arsenal and several elite European clubs have taken notice of Sporting Lisbon’s valuation for their star striker, Viktor Gyokeres. The Portuguese club is reportedly open to selling the Swedish forward for around £63 million, which has sparked interest from some of the biggest names in football.
Gyokeres, who is 26 years old, recently made headlines with a stunning hat-trick against Manchester City in a Champions League match. This remarkable performance brought his season total to 23 goals across just 17 games, showcasing his impressive talent and consistency. As a result, he’s now considered one of the most promising and in-demand strikers across Europe.
Gyokeres joined Sporting Lisbon from Coventry City in July 2023 for a transfer fee of £20 million. Since then, he has quickly adapted to playing at a higher level, making a strong impact in Portuguese football and even helping his team secure the national title in his debut season.
Although his contract with Sporting is set to last until 2028 and includes a release clause valued at €100 million (about £83 million), recent reports suggest that Sporting may be willing to entertain offers close to £63 million when the transfer window opens in the summer. This information, shared by The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, indicates that the club could be open to negotiating for the right price, offering an opportunity for interested clubs to make a move for this emerging star.
