Chelsea make Victor Osimhen their top target for January transfer window

According to rumors, Chelsea have made Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen their top target for the January transfer window.

Nicolas Jackson is Chelsea’s highest scorer this season, with seven goals in all competitions, but Mauricio Pochettino’s team has struggled to convert chances this season.

Chelsea had previously approached Ivan Toney, but they face stiff competition from Arsenal, and Brentford is demanding an £80 million transfer cost.

According to The Telegraph, Pochettino wants Chelsea to bring in another striker, and Osimhen is at the top of the club’s wishlist.

According to the source, Osimhen is interested in joining Chelsea despite their lack of Champions League football.

Napoli, on the other hand, is expected to want a sum in excess of £100 million.

Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel explicitly lobbied Osimhen to join the club on an episode of his The Obi One Podcast earlier this month.

‘We’re screaming for him,’ Mikel remarked.

‘If you look at our Chelsea squad, we’re not playing very well at the moment, but we lack goals, we lack a striker who can go into areas and create.

‘I was watching Darwin Nunez for Liverpool, and he had like 11 shots and all the runs he made, he created those opportunities on his own because he was that quick.’

‘That is what Victor will provide us at Chelsea, a striker who is prepared to run behind, certainly those passes will come through and he will score goals.

‘I believe we’re screaming out for goals, and I think if he comes to Chelsea, it would fit him extremely well because we don’t have anyone doing that right now, so there won’t be too much pressure on him coming into the club because clearly we need that, we’re crying out for that.

‘You know, my recommendation is that he come to Chelsea.’
